On Tuesday, November 29, 2022, the Support Group for Returnees and Refugees (GARR), accompanied by several other human rights organizations, marched from Place de la Constitution (Champ de Mars) to the Embassy of the Dominican Republic (Pétion-ville) where a message was sent to the Dominican authorities.

This march aimed to denounce the abuse, racism and xenophobia suffered by Haitians in the Dominican Republic.

GARR took the opportunity to ask the Haitian authorities to break their silence, to adopt the necessary measures in order to ask the Dominican Government to suspend mass repatriations and to treat Haitian nationals with respect and dignity, with regard to conventions and treaties that the country has signed

Also, he asked the international community to rigorously sanction the Dominican government for violating the rights of Haitian migrants.
