iciHaiti - Economy : Dominican exports to Haiti, affected by the crisis, remain on the rise
The constant blockages of entry and exit of goods, the difficulties of operations on the binational market, as well as the effects of the social and migratory conflict between the two countries caused a drop in Dominican exports to Haiti of 24.72% on the first 10 months of 2022 mainly felt in the last 3 months compared to the same period of the previous year (August 2022: $92.4 million - 4.6%, September 2022: $56.3 million - 33.71%, October 2022: $63.8 million -24.67%).
However, despite this decline and the serious crisis in Haiti between January and October 2022, Dominican exports to Haiti remain on a moderate increase, increasing by 13.12% compared to the same period in 2021, reaching the historic figure of 885.7 million US dollars.
The amount of goods exported in the first ten months of 2022 is 45% higher than that of 2020 on the same date ($610.6 million) and 28% higher than that of 2019 ($691.9 million).
