In a circular dated December 5, 2022, Prime Minister ai.i Ariel Henry advises "[...] with reference to the Order of March 29, 2017, relating to the lifestyle of the State aimed at the rationalization of public expenditure and for a better cash management, all public administration authorizing officers will ensure that end-of-year expenditure is limited to what is strictly essential.

Consequently, they are prohibited the ordering of end-of-year gifts, in particular Christmas baskets, expensive greeting cards and the organization of lavish parties at the expense of the administration."

Adding "Ministry of Economy and Finance will take all necessary measures for the purposes of scrupulous compliance with this circular."
