The Embassy of Haiti in Canada again this year, is pleased to honor a group of institutions and personalities of the Haitian community who have contributed through their achievements and contributions to the advancement of Haitian communities in the different provinces of Canada. , to strengthen relations between Canada and Haiti, while projecting a positive image of Haiti.

Tribute to Dr. Claude Dauphin :

"Born in Gonaïves, Dr. Claude Dauphin is an author, musicologist and professor emeritus at the University of Quebec in Montreal. His publications focus mainly on the musicology of 18th century France, the musicology and ethnomusicology of Haiti.

Alongside his duties as a professor, he has published more than a hundred scientific articles and a dozen books relating to his various fields of study.

Founder in 1977 of the Society for Research and Dissemination of Haitian Music, Dr. Claude Dauphin is today the curator of the archives of this organization and manages the impact in the academic environment with the Interdisciplinary Observatory of Creation and Research in Music (OICRM) of which he is a regular member."
