iciHaiti - FLASH : Public transport prohibited in the Portail Léogâne / Bizonton perimeter
After urgent consultation with the various public transport authorities. The leaders of the Haitian Land Transport Sector (STTH) and those of the Association of Owners and Drivers of Haiti (APCH), consider it urgent to take appropriate decisions for the protection of the lives and property of road users.

"Considering :

- The high number of public transport vehicles hijacked and kept by the kidnappers for several months;
- Kidnapping cases spectacular made with public transport vehicles;
- Transport of arms and ammunition in public transport vehicles;
- Drivers and passengers victims of bullets lost in the boarding stations at Portail Léogâne recently.

It is prohibited for all public transport vehicles to cross the perimeter of Portail Léogâne in Bizonton and from Bizoton to Portail Léogâne from Monday 15 May 2023 until official authorization from the National Police of Haiti (PNH) through the press, ensuring the safety of lives and property of road users in Martissant, Blvd Harry Truman and surrounding areas.

However, public transport will temporarily continue its service from Bizoton to Grand'Anse via the South-East, the Nippes and the Great South."
