In a note dated August 28, 2023, the Secretariat of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H) "formally denies the allegations suggesting that the Military Institution would have intervened the past weekend in the area called Canaan, northern suburb of Port-au-Prince.

Some testimonies report individuals showing off in uniform reminiscent of that usually used by the Military Institution in the field : we deplore this.

The Institution takes this opportunity to express its sympathy to the injured and to the relatives of the victims of this painful tragedy."
