iciHaiti - Economy : 85 businesses run by women, winners of the Booster PME competition
The Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) and the Swiss Cooperation, with the support of the Primature, under the high patronage of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, presented the 85 winning companies of the "Booster PME" competition a BRH initiative to develop a national financial inclusion strategy to propel young companies with innovative ideas, and finance women-led businesses. This initiative is a pillar of the "National Framework for Agricultural Financing" (CNFA) project funded by Swiss cooperation.

The financing of the 85 winning companies of the competition (out of 500 registered) is part of a dynamic aimed at setting up a national framework for the strengthening of agricultural financing in Haiti, signed in December 2019 between the Embassy of Switzerland and the Central Bank .

The objective of the program is to strengthen the financial ecosystem and contribute to the country's economic growth while sustainably consolidating governance and financial mechanisms adapted to the agricultural sector.

The 85 winning companies will benefit from technical support and coaching for six months. For this, three support firms have been selected : Group-Croissance, Compass and CDG, as well as funding for their projects.

In their remarks for the occasion, Sofia Loréus the Minister for the Status of Women and the Prime Minister a.i Ariel Henry congratulated the 85 winning companies, led by women, for their spirit of creativity, their sense of initiative and their commitment to contribute to the development of the country.
