iciHaiti - UNDP : Program to Support Justice and Fight agtainst Impunity
The Program to Support Justice and Fight Impunity (PAJLI) of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP-Haiti), marks an important step by supporting a training program (online and face-to-face) including the first session was held Thursday June 20, 2024 by videoconference for the 18 new judicial inspectors recently appointed by the Superior Council of the Judicial Power (CSPJ).

In his speech for the occasion, Xavier Michon, Resident Representative of UNDP in Haiti, congratulated the new inspectors and reaffirmed UNDP's commitment to supporting the CSPJ, the popularization sessions of the ethics guide for judges and the improvement of the system of Computerized Judicial Case Management (GICAJ). This includes the establishment of two regional offices of the DIJ, whose mission is to guarantee the proper functioning of the courts and tribunals in accordance with the laws of the Republic, to ensure the application of the judicial tariff, to deal with complaints and grievances from litigants.

Xavier Michon also thanked the Government of Canada for its crucial funding as well as the Government of Norway for its continued support of PAJLI.

UNDP called on other donors to commit to strengthening the justice system in Haiti, emphasizing that there will be no security without effective justice.
