iciHaiti - SEMAMAH : Construction of the National Institute for Training in Maritime Trades
Engineer Raphaël HOSTY, Minister of Public Works and his cabinet received Éric Junior Prévost, the Director General of the Maritime and Navigation Service of Haiti (SEMANAH) and three executives of the institution.

The meeting mainly focused on the development of the maritime sector in Haiti and the Ten-Year Plan 2020-2030, focused on improving maritime regulation and safety.

A key point of the discussions was the proposal to build the National Institute for Training in Maritime Trades (INFMM) financed in part by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB). This project aims to address the lack of qualified professionals in the maritime sector and is part of a capacity building approach for SEMANAH, essential for enforcing the Maritime and Navigation Code of Haiti.

The architectural and technical plans of the INFMM are ready.

Engineer Raphael Hosty reaffirmed his support for SEMANAH to meet current challenges. "This meeting marks a significant step forward in the realization of strategic projects for the Haitian maritime sector, demonstrating effective collaboration between the two institutions," stressed Minister Hosty.
