Dr. Georges Fils Brignol, Minister of Public Health, received a donation on the tarmac of Toussaint Louverture Airport of a batch of 9 tons of health equipment from India.

Among the equipment, among others: 24,000 blood bags (18,000 double and 6,000 triple), immuno-hematological reagents, reagents for screening infectious agents, 20,000 transfusers, an Elisa washer and other collection equipment.

Reagents for performing compatibility tests, blood grouping and substances for screening tests related to genes likely to transmit diseases through blood are expected next week.

For Dr. Ernst Noël, Director of the National Blood Transfusion Center (CNTS), this is a substantial contribution that will better meet the growing demand for blood throughout the national territory.
