In a statement, the authorities explained that the operations were carried out in different municipalities and sectors of the border province of Dajabón, an area under the control of the 10th Infantry Battalion, and in other communities of Valverde.

The Haitians were handed over to the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) for the corresponding purposes in accordance with the provisions of the law.

In other operations, the army seized 707,800 units of Capital brand cigarettes from Haiti that were being smuggled into Dominican territory. Thanks to intelligence work, two vehicles were intercepted in the municipalities of Monción and Mao, in the provinces of Santiago Rodríguez and Valverde, respectively, where the illegal cigarettes were seized.
