iciHaiti - NOTICE : FAA eases flight ban in Haiti

Wednesday, November 20, 2024 the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) after issuing on November 12, 2024 a NOTAM (notice to pilots) temporarily prohibiting the operations of American civil aviation on the territory and in the airspace of Haiti at an altitude below 10,000 feet https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43621-haiti-flash-us-airlines-banned-from-flying-over-haiti-for-30-days.html after three commercial airliners were hit by gunfire from Haitian terrorists:

Spirit Airlines (at least 7 impacts https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43614-haiti-flash-spirit-airlines-plane-hit-in-flight-by-several-bullets-video.html ), JetBlue (1 impact) and American Airlines (1 impact)

The FAA has decided to relax this ban and now authorizes flights over the northern regions of Haiti, including the city of Cap-Haïtien.
