The Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) is actively continuing rehabilitation work on Sainte Marie Hospital, located in the commune of Cité-Soleil, as part of the Safety Net Strengthening Program for Vulnerable Populations. This program is funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

Significant progress has been made in the execution of this work, aimed at providing the residents of Cité-Soleil, Haiti's largest underprivileged neighborhood, with a suitable environment for healthcare.

During the period from June 2nd to 6, 2025, technicians, under the careful supervision of the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF), which draws on its expertise in community development, reinforced the concrete block infrastructure, erected new walls, and undertook various targeted demolition activities.

The work also included the plastering of the perimeter fence walls, while the reinforcement of the existing columns progressed. To ensure increased structural resistance to seismic risks, upper anchors were installed and column reinforcement was installed in accordance with current technical plans.

Furthermore, with a desire to empower beneficiaries, the FAES supported ongoing community training initiatives on the construction site led by the PADF. These trainings aim to develop useful technical skills to strengthen the community.
