iciHaiti - Insecurity : PNCS premises targeted in violent attack

The General Coordination of the National School Feeding Program (PNCS) denounces and condemns in the strongest possible terms the violent attack perpetrated against the institution's premises, located at Catalpa 5, Delmas 75, which occurred during the night of Monday, January 5th to Tuesday, January 6th, 2026.

During this attack, individuals targeted the PNCS facilities, transforming the site into a scene of devastation : burning tires, thrown stones, shattered windows, and burning barricades prevented employees from accessing their workplace and carrying out their activities.

The General Coordination expresses its profound indignation at these destructive and unacceptable acts of vandalism, which constitute a direct violation of the employees' right to work and a clear attempt to undermine a mission essential to the country's social and educational development. Although no loss of life was reported, the material damage is significant and has severely disrupted the institution's operations.

Furthermore, the General Coordination wishes to reiterate that this violence is not solely targeting the PNCS, but jeopardizes a vital program for thousands of schoolchildren across the country. Attacking the PNCS is attacking the future of many students and undermining the efforts made in support of education.

To date, the perpetrators of these acts have not yet been identified. In this regard, the PNCS General Coordination calls upon the competent authorities to launch a thorough investigation without delay to identify those responsible and bring them to justice.

Finally, the General Coordination appeals for calm, vigilance, and a sense of responsibility. It reaffirms its determination to pursue its mission in service to children and national education, despite attempts at intimidation, and renews its commitment to continue nurturing the future and meeting the expectations of its contract employees.
