iciHaiti - Economy : Signature of a customs facilitation MoU

Friday January 16, 2026, at the Montana Hotel, the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Haiti (CCIH) signed a customs facilitation Memorandum of Understanding aimed at supporting national production through the reduction of delays, cost control and securing the flow of goods, thus making customs clearance procedures more efficient.
Taking advantage of the event, Minister Alfred Fils METELLUS, in his remarks on the circumstances, announced the suspension of taxes (TCA) for all raw materials necessary for national production. A decision which was welcomed by the national producers present at the event.
Through the signing of this agreement, the Ministry confirms its desire to prioritize competitiveness, performance and the capacity of individual companies.
