iciHaiti - Ambulances : Good news for the Southeast

As part of the national mobilization campaign led by the National Ambulance Center (CAN) to repair broken-down ambulances and strengthen the capacity of emergency services across the country, a technical team was deployed to the Southeast Department to address the needs of the population.

Last week, a team of mechanics and technicians from CAN arrived in the city of Jacmel, where several ambulances had been out of service for some time due to mechanical problems. This situation was causing significant difficulties for the department, as at the time of the intervention, only one ambulance was operational, and even then, it was not in optimal condition.

This intervention was carried out under the direction of CAN's general administration, with the participation of Renand Aristide, Director General; Leconte Dor, Administrative and Financial Director; Nelson C. Gervais, Logistics Manager; Carlo Monpoint, Manager; and the institution's mechanics. After several days of intensive work, the team successfully repaired seven broken-down ambulances that were in poor condition.

Following these repairs, the ambulances are back on the road to continue providing emergency services to the population of the Southeast Department, a step that improves access to healthcare for residents, particularly in emergencies.

Renand Aristide announced that this mobilization campaign will continue in other departments of the country, with the goal of ensuring that more ambulances remain operational to serve the population.
