The report by the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH), presented to the UN Security Council in January 2026, reveals that the Haitian National Police (PNH) has strengthened its operational capabilities by acquiring additional equipment and infrastructure. As of December 31, 2025, the Haitian National Police (PNH) fleet of 174 armored vehicles was as follows :

114 armored vehicles were operational (65.5%)

33 were not operational (18.9%)

25 had been destroyed (14.3%)

2 had been seized by gangs (1.1%)

Another 15 armored vehicles are expected to arrive within 2 to 3 weeks, part of a 40-vehicle order placed by the Haitian government.

Furthermore, the report reveals that between September and November 2025, 9 police officers were killed in the line of duty.
