Haiti - Dominican Rep. : Exports to Haiti on the rise (January 2026)

Dominican exports to Haiti totaled US$103.9 million in January 2026, a 6.8% increase compared to January 2025. The majority of these shipments were made under the national customs regime, representing 75.9% of total exports, while free trade zones accounted for 14.9%. The temporary admission regime represented 5.96% and the re-export regime 3.2%.

According to the monthly report on trade between the Dominican Republic and Haiti, published by the General Directorate of Customs (DGA), exports from free trade zones remain heavily concentrated on textiles and industrial inputs. In this segment, 87.81% of export value was concentrated on 10 products, primarily knitted T-shirts and undershirts (32.74%), followed by other cotton fabrics (28.50%) and plastic transport or packaging materials, including bottle caps and closures (6.24%).

The document specifies that exports under the domestic regime (produced in the Dominican Republic) were also concentrated on 10 products, representing 56.78% of total exports under this regime. Among the main products were forged, rolled, or extruded iron or non-alloy steel bars (13.33%), hydraulic cements, including colored cements (10.73%), and pharmaceuticals composed of mixed or unmixed products (5.97%).
