"There is an increase in reported kidnappings for ransom in Port-au-Prince, particularly in the Delmas area. There are reported incidents of kidnappers posing as police officers. Precautions to take : • Keep a low profile; • Limit all unnecessary travel; • Always inform someone of where you are going and what time you expect to return; • Develop a communication plan with family, your employer, or host organization. This helps them monitor your safety and location as you travel through high-risk areas.
