iciHaiti - Petit-Goâve : 2nd cohort of women graduate in fields traditionally reserved for men

The Ministry for the Status of Women organized the graduation ceremony for the second cohort of 40 single mothers and women in traditionally male-dominated fields of tile making and industrial chemistry at the Signature Auditorium in Petit-Goâve.

In her address, Ms. Ronique Paul Jean, Acting Departmental Director for the West, conveyed the warm greetings of Minister Pedrica Saint-Jean to the graduates, who places particular importance on women's economic empowerment as a fundamental driver of social transformation.

According to Ms. Paul, this socio-economic integration project is not an isolated initiative. It is part of a national strategy aimed at reducing women's economic vulnerability and creating sustainable opportunities.

Commending the collaboration of the partner schools in the success of this training, she emphasized the crucial nature of this ambitious project and outlined the Ministry's priorities. "The Ministry of Women’s Affairs and Women’s Rights will continue to support, guide, and assist all initiatives that place women at the heart of national development. Because when a woman achieves economic success, the entire nation gains stability," she stated, urging the recipients to strive to become role models for the good of the community.
