The Montfort Institute for Deaf Children recently produced a visual dictionary of Haitian Sign Language, a major initiative promoting the inclusion of deaf people in Haiti.

Comprising more than 2,800 signs in Creole, French, and English, it was published by Friends of Montfort, Inc. This 680-page, full-color dictionary helps preserve the language and improve communication within the deaf community in Haiti.

Institute officials symbolically presented the dictionary to the Secretary of State for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities, Genard Joseph, during an official meeting.

This initiative marks a significant step forward in promoting sign language and access to inclusive education in Haiti.
