Jamaica : 10 APN employees undergoing maritime pilot training

The National Port Authority (APN) of Haiti announces that 10 of its employees are currently in Jamaica participating in specialized maritime pilotage training at the Caribbean Maritime University (CMU).

This six-month training program is part of an initiative to strengthen national technical skills in a field essential to the smooth operation and competitiveness of Haiti's international ports.

This initiative is an integral part of the APN's efforts to promote maritime and port-related professions and develop continuing education programs that are both professionally oriented and tailored to the sector's needs.

It aims, in particular, to improve the managerial, administrative, and professional capacities of the port system's human resources.

In this context, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the National Port Authority and CMU to strengthen institutional cooperation and enhance the value of professions related to maritime activities.

Through this initiative, the APN reaffirms its commitment to the professionalization of the port sector, in accordance with international standards, and reiterates its desire to position the Haitian port system as a driver of national economic development.
