According to the report on trade between the Dominican Republic and Haiti, established by the Directorate General of Customs (DGA), during the first quarter of 2026, total exports to Haiti reached US$333.6 million, an increase of 22% compared to the same period in 2025, when they amounted to approximately US$275.79 million.

In January, the national regime's export demand to Haiti was mainly for construction materials such as rebar, iron and steel, products on which Haiti is heavily dependent, followed by hydraulic cements and wheat flour.

Other dynamic sectors include bakery products, plastic transport and packaging materials, sauce mixes, soybean and palm oil, and plastic transport and packaging materials.

Foreign trade of the national regime represented the largest share of trade with Haiti, i.e. 74.8%, while free zones represented 16.35%, temporary admission 5.55% and re-exports 3.30%.

Domestic exports reached approximately US$249.5 million, a relative increase of 33.78%, reflecting increased demand for local products. On the other hand, sales from free zones fell by 19.9%, to 54.5 million US dollars.
