Reshuffle of the CEP Executive Board
On September 8, 2026, the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) reshuffled its executive board. With just over three months remaining until the first round of elections scheduled for December 13, 2026, Pastor Peterson Pierre-Louis has replaced Jacques Desrosiers as President—a role Desrosiers had held since October 2025. New composition of the executive board : President : Pastor Peterson Pierre-Louis (Representative of the Reformed denominations sector; replaces Jacques Desrosiers, representative of journalists' associations); Vice-President : Jaccéus Joseph (Representative of the peasant sector; former Secretary General); Secretary General : Nemrod Sanon (Representative of the trade union sector; former Treasurer); Treasurer : Schnaïda Adély (Representative of the Vodou sector; newly appointed to the board). This internal leadership change does not alter the official electoral calendar, which sets the first round for December 13, 2026; the board will, however, have to address criticism from political parties regarding the verification of membership lists as well as security-related constraints.
