International Gastronomy Village : Ambassador Volcy visits Chef Carline Irantus
On Saturday, September 12, Haitian Ambassador Louino Volcy paid a courtesy visit to Chef Carline Irantus of Saveur Créole 509, who is representing Haitian cuisine at the 10th International Gastronomy Village, held from September 10 to 13, 2026, in Paris, at the Place de la Concorde. Leading a delegation, Ambassador Volcy warmly congratulated Ms. Irantus, whose presence at this international culinary event allows the public to discover the flavors and expertise of Haiti. The diplomat also expressed his admiration for her passion and commitment to promoting Haitian cuisine on the French, European, and international stage. Through her stand, Carline Irantus is helping Haiti shine alongside 80 other countries gathered to celebrate gastronomy as a tool for diplomacy, intercultural dialogue, and friendship among peoples. The presence of the Haitian chef at this major global gathering of culinary heritage skillfully illustrates the richness and creativity of Haitian cuisine, a cuisine steeped in history, sharing, and conviviality. The Embassy of Haiti in France invites the Haitian community and the Parisian public to come and taste the specialties prepared by the chef and to celebrate the place of Haitian gastronomy on the world stage. The village closes this Sunday, September 13 (last day). IH/ iciHaiti
