As many displaced people who had lived in the Bourdon camps have returned to their original neighborhoods, the FAES food assistance program is adapting to this new reality.

Thirteen community restaurants are being supplied in Solino, Poste-Marchand, and Nazon : eleven in Solino, one in Poste-Marchand, and one in Nazon. This allows families now settled in these areas to continue receiving meals prepared near their homes.

Implemented on the instructions of Kesner Romilus, Director General of FAES, this operation aims to support beneficiaries beyond their former accommodation sites. The participating restaurants have the necessary utensils and equipment to operate, and the FAES will cover the salaries of the kitchen staff. This reorganization reflects an evolution in the program: food assistance is no longer concentrated in the camps but is being delivered closer to families as they return to their neighborhoods.

In Solino, Poste-Marchand, and Nazon, these new community restaurants are gradually taking over from the distribution points that existed in Bourdon. The return of families does not mean the end of their needs; rather, it calls for an adaptation of the social response. Through this food supply, the goal is to maintain access to food assistance and ensure that the return to the neighborhoods does not create a break in the support provided to those affected.
