José Ricardo Taveras, Dominican Director of Immigration said that the Dominican authorities are considering to regularize the situation of Haitian citizens who can prove they live and work in border communities including Dajabon, Montecristi, Pedernales, Elías Piña, Independencia and Jimani so that they can continue to conduct business legally, while reminding employers of Haitian citizens, that they have their part of responsibility in monitoring the behavior of these people.
