Edwing Charles, the Minister of Youth and Sports, accompanied by Mrs. Valiollah St Louis Gilmus the national representative of the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF), represented Haiti at the 16th meeting of the International Committee of the Games of La Francophonie (CIJF) held in Paris on June 27 at the headquarters of the OIF.

Following the withdrawal of Canada New Brunswick to organize the IX Games of La Francophonie 2021 the International Committee of the Games of La Francophonie brought together the representatives of the Member States as of right in order to reflect and exchange on the candidacy file of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Minister Charles took an active part in the discussions at this important meeting, which recommended to the DRC : to transmit the complete nomination file to the members of the Orientation Council; submit the budget in September 2019 and begin work on the Games Village in October 2019.

The presence of Charles at this 16th meeting of the CIJF allowed him to ensure that our young athletes and artists will participate in 2021 in the ideal conditions for the sports competitions and cultural competitions of the Games of La Francophonie and will be able to make us proud like Jean Jean Roosevelt, gold medalist in song of the Games of Nice in 2013.
