The Directorate General of Migration (DGM) intensified its migratory control operations during which 1,078 Haitians were controlled in 5 days in : Santiago de los Caballeros (230), Montecristi (145), Valverde (110), Dajabón ( 71), Santiago Rodríguez (66), Mgr Nouel (48), San Cristóbal (44), Azua (17), Santo Domingo East and North (117) and the national district (230).

After verification using biometric readers and consultation with the database of the DGM, 895 Haitians (83%) were declared in irregular migration situation and led during this period, at the border posts of Dajabón and Elías Piña, to to be registered and deported to Haiti.

The migration teams were composed of inspectors, agents of the Directorate General of Migration (DGM) with the support of the military, the CESTUR and the National Police in coordination with the Public Ministry of the Provinces concerned.
