iciHaiti - 9th day : 8 hospitalized hunger strikers
On Monday afternoon, the 9th day of the hunger strike, 8 students out of the 15 strikers had to be transferred by the Haitian Red Cross to a health center for medical treatment, as their health deteriorated considerably. At least one of the strikers was carried on a stretcher, said 28-year-old Mackenson Jean, a striker and law student at the Faculty of Law. Economy of the State University of Haiti "Our situation is getting worse, the sheets on which we sleep are dirty, we start to have pimples on our skin. Some of us have diarrhea [...]"

Last week, four of the strikers were evacuated for health care, although they later returned to strike.

"Some cases are more serious than others. We are on our ninth day of strike, no authority has reacted. The President spoke, but did not say anything about our situation. It means that life means nothing to him. He has lost all his humanity," added Mackenson Jean on behalf of his fellow strikers who is calling for the departure of the Head of State to put an end to their strike and who are ready to continue their fight to the end if necessary...

So far, the government has not reacted, except for a note asking the Red Cross to monitor the health status of striker students
