The Directorate General of Migration (DGM) indicates in its report of November 2019 that following investigations of location of Dominican intelligence services (J-2), associated with the denunciations of the population, several dozens of migration control operations of Haitians suspected of living illegally in the Dominican Republic, were conducted in different provinces of the country.

During these operations 7,479 Haitians (+ 10% compared to the previous month) controlled in irregular migratory situation or without paper, were deported to Haiti while 2,289 Haitians (+ 22% compared to the previous month) who tried to enter illegally on Dominican territory were turned back to the Dominican border.

In addition, several other foreigners from Albania, Colombia, Cuba and Ecuador who were illegally residing in the Dominican Republic were expelled from the country.

Note that this is the second consecutive month that the number of compatriots deported to Haiti is increasing (+ 10% in November, + 12.9% in October).
