Thursday, February 20, around 10:00 am, in Cap-Haitien, unidentified individuals burned down the stands of the Town Hall of Cap-Haitien and that of the Senator of the North, Jean Marie Ralph Féthière (PHTK) located not far from the Town Hall and of the Departmental Delegation, intended to welcome personalities for the parade of the 3 fat days.

The rapid intervention of the firefighters, however, did not prevent the total destruction of these 2 stands, which were able to contain the fire to prevent its spread.

Friday, despite this incident, the student carnival was a success. Thousands of carnivalists in disguise for the most part, coming from several educational and university institutions have taken the streets in a festive atmosphere under the animation of several DJs.

City officials and the Carnival Committee have said nothing will stop Carnival 2020.
