iciHaiti - Covid-19 : Sanitary measures in public transport

Tuesday during a daily press conference on the Covid-19, focusing among other things on raising awareness of the measures to protect and spread Covid-19 in public transport, Changeux Mehu, General Coordinator of the Land Transport Sector declared "We invite all public transport drivers to take all the provisions to protect themselves and their passengers. It is also important that you disinfect your vehicles after each race that you do [...] Everyone is affected by the Covid-19, we have decided to reduce the amount of passengers in the bus. It is the moment for the population to practice living together."

Sanon Nemrod, secretary general of the National Union for Modernization of Transport who attended the meeting said "No one is safe from the Covid-19, we urge all citizens to avoid boarding an overloaded vehicle"

While the Government continues to advocate the observation of a distance of 1.5m between people as the simplest and most effective way to prevent the spread of Covid-19 we can question the application of such measures, their effectiveness and the ability to enforce them.
