iciHaiti - DGI : Mitigation of the negative impacts of Covid-19 for economic agents

Michel Patrick Boivert Minister of Economy and Finance in a memorandum asks the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI) to adopt a series of measures aimed at mitigating the anticipated negative impacts of the health crisis caused by the Covid-19 epidemic on the financial situation of economic agents, particularly in terms of cash flow.

Measures adopted :

"[...]

  • Postponement of the date of payment of Income Tax for individuals and businesses until June 30, 2020;

  • Cancellation of fines and penalties related to late payment until June 30, 2020;

  • Splitting of the payment of the Income Tax of companies having deposited their financial statements at the beginning of January (tranche and deadline for splitting to be defined);

  • Grant until June 30, 2020, a moratorium on the application of the fine of 25,000 Gourdes to be paid by all Companies that have not filed their financial statements in the prescribed form and time;

  • Extend the validity of the tax discharge from June 30, 2020 from the expiration date;

  • Postponement of the payment of the Land Contribution of Built Properties (CFPB) until June 30, 2020.

These provisions do not apply to the Turnover Tax (TCA) taking into account the statute of legal liable of the companies. [...]"

Note that these measures have been in effect since April 1, 2020.
