The defendant who answers by the name of Odenson Désir (19 years old) aka "Bibi", had taken refuge, for some time, in the zone of Fonds-des-Nègres, with a friend, also actively sought by the police.
"According to the police intelligence service, Odenson Désir is implicated in the assassination of journalist Vladjimir Legagneur," said Wisnel Décembre, spokesman for the National Police of Haiti (PNH) in Miragoâne.
For SOS Journalists, the arrest of Odenson Désir represents an encouraging twist in this quest for justice for Vladjimir Legagneur and calls on the competent authorities to speed up efforts to bring the judicial investigation to a conclusion as soon as possible.
