iciHaiti - Governance : Signing of the political agreement today ? 11/09/2021 09:50:12
Moreover, on the same day, members of the Prime Minister’s cabinet met with around thirty representatives of women's organizations from the departments of the West and the Great South around this political agreement. Several proposals, such as those relating to the 30% quota for women or the 30 electoral constituencies reserved for women, were among others on the menu of discussions. At the end of this meeting, the representatives agreed to sign on Saturday the final document of the "Political agreement for peaceful and effective governance of the interim period". Signing ceremony which should take place, barring unforeseen circumstances, at the Prime Minister's official residence. At the last minute we learned that several civil society organizations including: the Middle Class Economic Forum, the Patriotic Citizens Movement, the Order of Human Rights Defenders and the Visionaries Platform for the Integrity of Haitian Citizens among others... withdraw and will not sign the proposed agreement.
