iciHaiti - Health : Additional training for West Sanitary Officers

Benefiting from the support of the Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO Haiti), the Haitian Bureau of Standardization, the Cuban medical brigade and the Directorate of Health Promotion and Protection of Environment of the Ministry of Public Health, a workshop aimed at completing the training of Sanitary Officers from the West department was carried out. This training will be extended to other departments in the country before moving on to carrying out health inspections on the national territory.
Among the themes covered, we can remember: Inspection / Health Audit techniques, Introduction to entomology, Use of the “Delagua” kit, good restaurant hygiene practice, the ISO 22 000 standard, sampling of food products, sampling water and guidance on the health institution assessment form.
This approach is part of the process of restructuring the public health service and will allow health officers to better contribute to Promotion, Prevention and control activities.
