Tuesday January 2nd, 2024, Guy Philippe visiting the border town of Ouanaminthe, an area where his compatriots are building a canal with water intake on the Massacre River to irrigate the Maribaroux plain, at the origin of the crisis between Haiti and Dominican Republic, in front of a crowd of supporters declared 'We can build as many canals as we deem necessary."

The former coup leader also declared "I came to salute the determination, the courage of these women and men who said that we are independent and sovereign in our country."

During an interview in Ouanamitnthe Philippe attributed the responsibility for Haiti's difficulties to the "American Embassy" He affirmed that Prime Minister a.i. Ariel Henry was supported by the United States "That's why I say that people who die in neighborhoods because of gangs are the fault of the American Embassy."

He assured that 2024 will be a year when respect will be restored in Haiti and where there will be a "revolution" for the people.
