As part of its efforts to improve living conditions for people in the most remote regions of the country, the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES), through its Program to Strengthen Safety Nets for Vulnerable Populations (HA-J0005), is constructing a footbridge over the Médisant River in the commune of Anse d’Hainault, Grand’Anse department of Haiti.

This 30-square-meter footbridge aims to facilitate travel for local residents. The project is coordinated by the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF), an experienced operator in implementing community-based projects. Construction of the structure is currently nearing completion.

In addition to addressing a fundamental need for mobility, this project has created direct employment for several heads of households, thus boosting the local economy. The project has been welcomed by local residents, who see the footbridge as an essential support, particularly during periods of inclement weather.

This initiative exemplifies FAES's commitment to vulnerable communities while simultaneously strengthening the infrastructure necessary for sustainable development.
