On Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at the Hotel Oasis, Lovely François, Director General of the National Old-Age Insurance Office (ONA), officially launched a recruitment drive. This initiative offers over a hundred candidates, particularly young people, the chance to secure professional opportunities at the ONA based on their skills and merit.

"[...] This initiative reflects a clear commitment by our administration: to open the ONA’s doors wider to Haitian youth and to promote equal opportunity.

At a time when insecurity is exacerbating economic hardships and securing a first job remains a major challenge for many young people, we have a responsibility to create opportunities and foster an institutional culture grounded in merit, competence, integrity, and transparency.

Our young people must be able to believe that entering the labor market is possible through their knowledge, skills, and hard work—without needing a patron or a powerful sponsor. Giving young people a chance means giving Haiti a chance, too.

At the ONA, we intend to turn this commitment into reality and play our full part. To the young people participating in this process, I offer a message of confidence: keep believing in yourselves, investing in your education, and developing your skills. Haiti needs a generation of competent, responsible, and principled men and women who are committed to transforming our institutions and rebuilding the nation.

At the ONA, we intend to do our part : opening the door to merit, creating opportunities, and placing our trust in Haitian youth.”
