iciHaiti - DR : Nearly 200 Haitians deported every day 09/01/2020 08:31:13
During these operations 1,012 people of Haitian origin were arrested and checked. After verification using biometric readers and the central database of the DGM, 939 Haitians (93%) were declared in an irregular or paperless migration situation and returned to the border posts of Dajabón, Elías Piña and Jimaní, to be registered and deported to Haiti. The migration teams were made up of inspectors, agents from the Directorate General of Migration (DGM) with the support of the military, the Dominican National Police, other government security agencies in coordination with the Public Ministry of the Provinces concerned. The Director General of Migration, Lieutenant General Maximum William Muñoz Delgado, informed that the DGM will continue to carry out actions in coordination with other State institutions in order to guarantee the respect of foreigners of law 285-04.
