After verification using biometric readers and the central database of the DGM, 2,037 Haitians (82.1%) were declared in an irregular or paperless migration situation and taken back to the border posts of Dajabón and Elías Piña in accordance with the provisions of Law 285-04, to be registered there and then deported to Haiti. The migration teams were made up of inspectors, DGM agents with the support of the military, the Dominican National Police, the Specialized Tourist Security Corps (CESTUR), a representative of the Ministry of the Environment in coordination with the Public Ministry of the Provinces concerned. The DGM has informed that it will continue its migration prohibition operations to combat any illegal migration on Dominican territory.
